Jose Mourinho revealed earlier this month that he had attempted to land the Japanese international during his time in charge of Real Madrid and will now look to bring in the 24 year old, who may well welcome the prospect of a move to Stamford Bridge.
Kagawa has failed to live up to expectations since moving to Man United and life under David Moyes has not improved his situation, indeed the former Borussia Dortmund man has made just three Premier League starts this season, and therefore it’s a little bizarre that Mourinho would be willing to offer either of the two talents named by this source in order to sign the Kobe born star.
Whilst it’s true that neither Hazard or Mata have set the world alight this season both players are certainly superior to Kagawa in terms of their efforts since their respective moves to the English top tier.
Spaniard Mata has had two excellent seasons at Chelsea, winning the club’s player of the year award two years running, and Hazard has been a constant source of goals and assists ever since joining the West London club from Lille.
