Ronaldo enjoyed six successful seasons at Man United before he completed an £80m move to the Bernabeu, where he has proved a phenomenal signing, though Scottish boss Moyes harbours hope of bringing the goal machine back to his former club, stating;

“Everyone at Manchester United would tell you he is the best in the business anyway.

“I have not been fortunate enough to work with him but there is still hope some day it might be possible.”

Midfielder Anderson has also taken the opportunity to sign Ronaldo’s praises, adding to speculation that Man United may well be keen on bringing in the Portuguese international by saying;

“When you have Ronaldo it makes it easy.

“He scores all the time. He scored three goals on Tuesday. He is an amazing player, for me the best player in the world.”

It is perhaps important to note that Ronaldo has only recently signed a new five year contract and is clearly a player Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti will fight tooth and nail to keep hold of.

Ronaldo’s midweek hat-trick against Sweden brings the attacker’s total for the 2013/14 season to an astonishing 37 goals in 28 appearances for club and country.
