There have been rumblings of discontent at the Stade Louis II with AS Monaco striker Falcao apparently unsettled at the big spending Ligue 1 side, leading to a great deal of speculation that interested parties could attempt to lure the former Atletico Madrid man away from the principality side in January.

Chelsea have previously been linked with a £60m move for the 27 year old and one would imagine that AS Monaco would only listen to offers significantly higher than than the £52m they paid for his services in May.

Mourinho has watched on as his current quartet of strikers, Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o, Andre Schurrle and Fernando Torres have all failed to impress, managing just four Premier League goals between them this season.

Chelsea will have to stump up a hefty salary offer in order to convince Falcao to quit the tax haven principality, regardless of his apparent concerns, though one imagines that Blues owner Roman Abramovich is willing to bankroll such a move in his pursuit of major silverware.

Prior to his move to AS Monaco Radamel Falcao had scored goals with alarming ease at first FC Porto and then Atletico Madrid, racking up a total of 142 goals in four combined seasons in Portugal and Spain.

Juan Mata has previously been strongly linked with interest from PSG, with a valuation of £40m having been mentioned and it would take a bid of that magnitude to convince Chelsea to sell.
