The 18 year old Cameroon born forward is considered one of the hottest prospects to have graduated from Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy and is on the verge of a senior debut having impressed during Barcelona’s pre-season activity and has netted seven goals in ten matches for the club’s ‘B’ team who play in the Spanish second tier.
Jose Mourinho is unhappy with the efforts of his current crop of striker, Samuel Eto’o, Andre Schurrle, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba have netted just four Premier League goals between them.
A move for further striking talent may well leave loaned out Belgian Romelu Lukaku seeking a permanent Stamford Bridge exit, the powerful forward having once again made a real impact out on loan, with seven goals in eight Premier League appearances, this coming after he netted 17 goals at West Brom last season.
Dongou may however be reticent about a move to Chelsea given their less than glorious record when it comes to young talent excelling at the West London club in recent seasons.
