The Spaniard, who joined from Portuguese giants Benfica last year, has yet to find his feet in English football and Napoli boss Benitez has identified him as a realistic target to bolster his midfield options when the transfer market reopens in the new year.
The southern Italian side have been linked with a long list of impressive midfield stars so far this term, with the likes of Javier Mascherano, Maxime Gonalons and Mousa Dembele all being linked.
However, the club’s of those players are all looking to fend off the interest from the Sao Paolo, but City are believed to be willing to listen to offers for Garcia as manager Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t see him as a major part of his plans.
Pellegrini already brought in Fernandinho over the summer and is said to be looking at Marseille youngster Giannelli Imbula as another option, leaving those close to the club to speculate that Garcia may prefer the slower pace of Italian football to help kick start his career.
