The powerful Ecuadorian international spent three years at Man City before opting to move to Russia but would probably be tempted by a return to the English top tier.
Caicedo managed just ten Premier League starts during his time at the Etihad Stadium, spending a fair amount of that time out on loan to Sporting Lisbon, Malaga and Levante, and was purchased by Lokomotiv in a £6m deal back in July 2011.
Pardew has seen loaned in striker Loic Remy perform wonderfully but is all too aware that a number of other side’s will make an offer for the French international when the season comes to a close and this fact coupled with the long run of bad form suffered by Papiss Cisse is no doubt pushing the Magpies manager to look into alternative striking options.
Three wins on the bounce have lifted Newcastle United up to eighth spot in the Premier League.
Caicedo will represent Ecuador at the 2014 World Cup finals where they are worth a handy 100/1 bet at allpro.
