Egyptian has been in outstanding form for his club so far this season.
Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing FC Basel’s £20 million-rated wide man Mohamed Salah when the winter transfer window reopens again at the turn of the year, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The north London club’s director of football Franco Baldini was seen in the crowd at St. Jakob-Park on Tuesday night when the Swiss champions hosted Chelsea in their Uefa Champions League group-stage clash.
And the Italian will not have been disappointed with what he saw after Salah netted a dramatic late winner for the second time in a row against the west London club, and once again it was the 21-year-old’s express pace that helped him break clear of the Blues back four, before he coolly slotted home the winner.
As a result, it is now expected that Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas will make a move for the highly rated winger come the new year, although the north Londoners are set to face stiff competition for Salah from Premier League rivals Liverpool, after the Merseyside giants also expressed an interest in the player.
Either way, though, it is understood that Basel are prepared to allow their star man, who has a contract until 2016, to leave in January for the right price.
