Spanish wonderkid shines for the Toffees…
Everton boss Roberto Martinez was glowing in his praise of Gerard Deulofeu after the teenage midfielder produced a virtuoso performance in the 4-0 thrashing of Stoke, describing the youngster as a “unique talent”.
The 19-year-old, who is on loan from Barcelona, scored one goal and helped create two others on his first Premier League start, helping Everton to a comfortable victory and proving why he is so highly thought of at the Spanish giants.
While Deulofeu has long been tipped for stardom in Spain, the youngster had largely slipped under the radar from many Premier League fans until now. After his performance against Stoke, Everton fans will be delighted that their manager worked so hard to secure the midfielder’s services this season ahead of a host of clubs and might now be more confident when visiting Betfair to back the Toffees for a top-four spot this season.

After seeing his Everton side extended their unbeaten home record in 2013 and climbing up to fourth in the table, Martinez will be heading into the upcoming games against Manchester United and Arsenal with plenty of confidence despite what the Betfair odds currently say.
Those betting with Betfair have been given something to think about going into an important festive period following Everton’s sensational form this season, but Martinez’ side are still firm underdogs to come away from the Manchester United and Arsenal games with results.
The Betfair odds may still not give Everton much hope of finishing this Premier League season still inside the top-four, but that’s not to say Martinez’ men aren’t more than capable of causing a shock if they can keep their key players fit during the rest of the year.
