There were some scenes at Lille airport on Tuesday as Marseille touched down ahead of their Champions League chasing clash later on in the evening.
However, if the southern side were hoping to pass through the airport unannounced they were sorely mistaken as a group of rowdy Lille fans were there waiting to greet youngster Florian Thauvin with a few creative chants.
The 20-year-old made the move from Lille to Marseille over the summer, leaving his former club’s supporters with a more than bitter feeling towards him.
Chanting at the player as he arrived, a Marseille coach took exception to their bullying tactics and waded in to confront the culprits face-to-face with a short lived scuffle.
