The United boss is desperate to add some quality to his squad after a sluggish start to his tenure at Old Trafford has seen the side languishing 12 points behind current Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The former Everton boss endured a frustrating time in the transfer market over the summer and missed out on all but one of his key targets as he failed to land the likes of Leighton Baines, Cesc Fabregas and Ander Herrera, but he is now readying himself to shake off the disappointment of the previous window by making an ambitious double swoop for the Swiss based stars.
Both players, aged 21, have been eyed up by a number of English sides already, including Tottenham and Chelsea, after helping to overcome the latter twice in this season’s Champions League.
They would both likely improve the options already available to the Scot, with Schar adding some significant quality to the team’s backline whilst Salah would inject some life onto the wings where Nani and Ashley Young have stagnated.
Salah is said to be valued at around £20m, with Schar likely to cost a further £10m, and United’s owners are apparently willing to back the manager with the capital to bring in the players he desires.
