Ex-Barca player has been at the Bridge now since 2011.

The former Spain Under-23 international moved to the Mestalla on a season-long loan deal last summer, and although los Che head coach Miroslav Djukic has so far only used Romeu as a bit-part player, he still sees the youngster as being a key member of his first-team squad going forward.

In total so far in this campaign, Romeu has appeared in six matches in all competitions, two of which have come in La Liga.

However, despite the fact that Valencia are hoping to keep hold of the 22-year-old beyond the end of his loan deal, especially with it now believed more than likely that Ever Banega will quit the Spaniards in the summer, the west London club’s returning manager Jose Mourinho is thought keen to bring Romeu back to Stamford Bridge.

Romeu has been with the Blues now since the summer of 2011, when the midfielder was signed from FC Barcelona on a four-year contract for a fee of just 5m euros.
