The 26 year old still has two and a half years to run on his current contract but interest from Real Madrid will lead the Merseyside outfit to offer Suarez a big pay-rise that will take his earnings to £200k a week and the deal would also include a release clause that would only be triggered by a world record offer.
Suarez may apparently hold off on signing a new deal until the end of the season and Liverpool’s chances of tying the former Ajax man down to a new contract may then depend chiefly on whether Brendan Rodgers has managed to guide the club into the top four as a Champions League berth may well be the very least the club needs to achieve in order to keep the forward.
Suarez has netted 14 goals in ten Premier League starts this season and is arguably the most in-form striker in world football.
