Strootman has been one of the catalysts for an excellent start to the season which has seen AS Roma remain unbeaten in Serie A action and mount a genuine title push under new boss Rudi Garcia.
Though David Moyes brought in Marouane Felliani over the summer he may well feel he needs to further freshen up his midfield with the likes of Anderson and Tom Cleverley failing to make a consistent impact and Darren Fletcher continuing his recovery from long term sickness.
