Manchester United manager Davis Moyes is said to be keeping tabs on young Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri with the intention of beating arch rivals Liverpool to his signature in the new year, according to reports in Sports Direct News.

The Swiss international joined the current Bundesliga and European champions from FC Basel in his homeland in summer of 2012, but has so far failed to establish himself as a first team regular in Bavaria thanks mostly to the incredible talent that blocks his path in the squad.
Wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben have been in terrific form over the past two seasons and manager Pep Guardiola only made things more difficult for the 21-year-old by bringing in Mario Gotze and Thiago Alcantara over the summer, and now United boss Moyes is looking to capitalise on his frustration by lining up a potential bid for him in January.
