United were strongly linked with a move for the Dutch international back in the summer whilst he was still on the books of PSV Eindhoven, but he decided to head to the Italian capital instead, and now fresh reports have emerged that David Moyes will go in for him again in the new year.

The 23-year-old has impressed greatly during his short time with the Giallorossi, and has been a key figure in the club’s excellent start to the Serie A campaign that still sees them topping the table going into the midseason break.

Moyes has been looking to re-inforce his midfield and it is believed that Strootman is at the top of his wish list.

However, Strootman’s agent, Chiel Dekker, says the midfielder is not thinking about leaving Roma as he is happy with life in Italy.

“Kevin is very happy in Rome and his intention is to stay here for a long time,” Dekker told Sky Sports.

“They have started a project and a new team and he has adapted well to his new club.”
