Newly installed Black Cats boss Gus Poyet will look to bring in the experienced Brazilian in on a loan deal in January, a move that may suit all parties.
The 34 year old former Inter Milan man hasn’t played for QPR this season and could do with regular first team football with the 2014 World Cup finals on the horizon and Poyet may see Cesar as a viable alternative to former Arsenal man Vito Mannone.
Sunderland sit bottom of the Premier League table, some five point from safety having conceded a massive 30 goals in 15 Premier League matches.
Cesar is an top level performer who has a decent season at Loftus Road last season despite the West London side suffering relegation.
Poyet has recently discussed the shortcoming of his squad, stating;
‘I’m working on changing things in January, that’s for sure. But that doesn’t affect my thinking about now.
‘There are things going on behind the scenes in terms of the transfer window – that hasn’t changed – and I’m confident they will happen. How big the changes will be, I don’t know just yet. But we need results now, in our next few games, and it is about personality and attitude. There is a gap between us and the other teams, so we need to be spot on.’
QPR would be more than likely to sell Julio Cesar on the cheap as they look to have his wage packet wiped off the balance sheet. Harry Redknapp’s side are leading the way in the Championship Betting odds thanks to a solid start to the campaign.
