Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas is set to revive the club’s interest in Inter Milan defender Alvaro Pereira when the January transfer window re-opens, according to reports in Sports Direct News.

Spurs have had to use a number of makeshift options on the left side of defence since Benoit Assou-Ekotto left to join QPR at the end of last season, and with Danny Rose’s injury problems blighting his season it has meant that Jan Vertonghen has had to fill in for the majority of the campaign.
However, the Belgian international picked up an ankle injury against Fulham last week and may face a spell in the sidelines, leaving the club short at the back.
