Tottenham Hotspur’s club-record signing Erik Lamela could be loaned out to La Liga high-flyers Atletico de Madrid when the winter transfer window reopens again for business in the new year, according to reports on Footy Latest.

Top 10 Tottenham players.

The highly rated Argentina international has endured a torrid start to his career at White Hart Lane so far following his £30 million move to north London from Serie A giants AS Roma last August.

Lamela arrived at Tottenham with a huge reputation as being one of the most impressive and technically accomplished attackers in the Italian top flight, with the 21-year-old having managed to register 21 goals and 12 assists in his 66 matches in all competitions for the Romans, including 19 strikes and 11 assists in 62 league outings in his two seasons at the club.

However, it is fair to say that Lamela has found it far harder settling in at the north Londoners, and now after just one goal in his 13 matches in total for his new team, it appears as though Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas is considering loaning the Argentinian out to Atleti in order for the forward to gain some much-needed playing time, as well as confidence in front of goal too.
