Reports in France suggest that the Stamford Bridge outfit were in attendance last night to watch the 20-year-old feature in 79 minutes of his side’s defeat.

Thauvin was brought off just minuted before Dortmund netter their winner, and he has already chalked up four goals in 12 Ligue 1 games this season.

Arsenal are also said to be intwerested in his services and were pondering a bid for him over the summer, only to lose out to the side from the French Riviera instead.

Thauvin had been the subject of a fierce transfer saga during the off season after going on strike at Lille in order to earn a big money move to Marseille.

His decision earned him some significant ire from Lille fans, who let him know exactly how they felt last week when the two met in the league, though he has maintained that his move was not motivated by money.
