The 24 year old has started just one Premier League fixture this year and Jose Mourinho’s apparent interest in Southampton youngster Luke Shaw may well spell the end of Bertrand’s Blues career and a move to Goodison Park may well tempt the England international.

28 year old first-choice Everton left-back Baines is linked with a move to reunite with his former Toffees boss David Moyes at Old Trafford and since he’s been out injured Costa Rican international Bryan Oviedo has performed well, so one wonders if Roberto Martinez really need to be looking elsewhere for options to fill the possible void left by the Goodison Park favourite.

Bertrand is into his fourth season in the Chelsea first team having joined the West London club as a 16 year old and having racked up just 21 Premier League starts in that time it is perhaps a wise decision to consider a fresh challenge.
