The in-demand Germany Under-21 international has been attracting the attentions of a whole host of big-name clubs of late, including the likes of Bundesliga champions and Uefa Champions League holders Bayern Munich, with the Bavarians having recently entered the race for Volland.

Volland really came to prominence for his club last season, and there is now even talk in Germany that the 21-year-old could be a surprise inclusion in head coach Joachim Loew’s squad for next summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil after what has been an impressive start to the new campaign by the winger.

In total, the German has managed to register 12 goals and six assists in his 22 matches in all competitions for club and country, including seven strikes and four assists in his 15 Bundesliga matches.

However, with a contract that runs until June 30 2017, it is expected that the north London club and the Merseysiders will need to fork out a transfer fee somewhere in the region of £12 million if they wish to lure Volland to the Premier League in January.
