Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his attack and is willing to offer Belgian Kevin de Bruyne in part exchange for the in-form German international.
De Bruyne enjoyed a hugely successfully season on loan at Werder Bremen last term and as such will be well known to the Bundesliga club and could perhaps be a tempting sweetener should Jurgen Klopp have to consider selling Reus.
The 24 year old has been a consistent attacking force for Borussia Dortmund during his 18 months at the club, scoring 30 goals in 71 appearances, and playing a pivotal role in the side’s run to the Champions League final last season. However Klopp’s side are now 12 points off Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and a move to Chelsea may well appeal to Reus.
Mourinho has seen the likes of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba struggle for goals and may see Reus as a possible spearhead for his Blues attack, though the former Borussia Monchengladbach man is perhaps best used in the hole behind the strikers.
