Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that he is looking at a number of the best players being produced in Romania by claiming that several of Vlad Chiriches’ compatriots could soon be joining him at White Heart Lane, talkSPORT reports.

Centre-back Chiriches has been impressing in north London since joining the club at the end of the summer transfer window from Steaua Bucharest.

Spurs have recently been monitoring the form of Steaua skipper Alex Bourceanu with the view to bringing him on board and reuniting him with his former teammate, and Villas-Boas has gone one further to confirm that there is not one, but a number of players he has been checking out recently.

He said: “There are a couple of Romanian players who are very interesting, particularly at Steaua [Bucharest], but I cannot mention them for obvious reasons.

“But I think there is always talent coming out of Romanian football. I think it’s always a market that we have to be aware of.”

So far this term Chiriches has made ten appearances for the club across all competitions so far, scoring one goal.
