Former Chelsea coach Steve Clarke could be in line for a shock return to the club following his dismissal from West Bromwich Albion over the weekend, according to reports in Sports Direct News.

Clarke lost his job at The Hawthorns on Saturday after they slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City. He had been tipped to rejoin Chelsea over the summer when Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge, but he opted to stay in the Midlands after enjoying a successful season last term.
However, the pair have kept in touch since last working together, and Clarke may now be on his way back to work alongside the Special One once again.
They did, though, seem to fall out after a bad tempered encounter between the two sides last month, in which Mourinho branded Albion as a ‘Mickey Mouse club’ following some questionable decisions from the referee led to several scuffles both on and off the pitch but Clarke later admitted that it is all water under the bridge now and the pair are still on speaking terms.
Mourinho is still a fan of Clarke’s coaching abilities and is thought to be keen on bringing him back to west London to work with him once again.
