This source claims that the 24 year old German international could be set to leave Westfalenstadion after seeing Borussia Dortmund fall way off the Bundesliga pace and scraping through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Amid talk of Jurgen Klopp beginning to the ‘lose the plot’, having had recent run-ins with officials and members of the German press, and with Robert Lewandowski set to leave the club in the summer there is talk of Man United successfully triggering the £30m release clause written into Reus’s contract.

The 24 year old has been a consistent attacking force for Borussia Dortmund during his 18 months at the club, scoring 30 goals in 71 appearances, and playing a pivotal role in the side’s run to the Champions League final last season.

David Moyes may feel that Reus could offer Man United a goal-scoring threat from an attacking midfield position and the capture of such a quality player would be a major statement of intent from a club seeking to re-assert their domestic dominance after a shaky opening under new management.
