The Reds are currently sat in second place in the table, just two points behind current leaders Arsenal, and they did they credentials no harm over the weekend as they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 at White Heart Lane.

And top scorer Suarez, who has 17 goals in his last 11 appearances, believes that any talk of going all the way has come far too early and the club won’t be able to fully assess where they are until the encounters against Chelsea and Manchester City have passed later this month.

And should the club manage to maintain their consistent form throughout the festive period then the 26-year-old feels that the club will at least manage to make their long awaited return to the Champions League.

“I think it’s too early to speak about that [winning the league]”, Suarez told his club’s official site.

“If we continue this level for the next two or three weeks, we can win the league or finish in the top four.

“But it’s important that we concentrate, we have forgotten the game against Tottenham.

“It was very important, but we are concentrating for the next game. After Cardiff, we have two big games and we can see where Liverpool could finish.”
