Man United are believed to be lining up a January bid for FC Porto left-back Alex Sandro as David Moyes looks to bring in a long term replacement for veteran Frenchman Patrice Evra according to the Metro.

Old Trafford boss David Moyes look a personal scouting mission to watch the 22 year old Brazilian international in a recent encounter with Atletico Madrid and with moves to capture Leighton Baines stalling Sandro is seen as a viable January transfer target.

Sandro moved to FC Porto in July 2011 in an £8m deal but is likely to be valued at far more by the Primeira Liga side, who are well known for making massive profits on player sales.

Sandro may well be a more likely capture given the long running pursuit of Leighton Baines, a player Everton will fight to prevent moving to reunite with his former boss at Man United, especially having seen Marouane Fellaini make the same move over the summer.
