Chelsea Supporters Furious About Samuel Eto’o Tweet Following Sundeland Defeat

Cameroonian star has struggled badly for form in front of goal since arriving at the Bridge last summer.

Veteran Chelsea front man Samuel Eto’o has caused outrage amongst fans of the west London club after appearing to celebrate the Blues’ shock 2-1 loss to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup quarter-finals at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night on Twitter, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The experienced Cameroon international tweeted a picture of the himself with both the scoreline from Wearside in the top left-hand corner and his own SE29 Eto’o logo in the bottom right-hand corner following Wednesday evening’s surprise extra-time League Cup defeat to the Black Cats.

And to make matters even worse, the striker had also missed a virtual open goal when Chelsea were leading 1-0 in the second half that would have all but sealed the visitors’ safe passage into the semi-finals.

However, the 32-year-old’s tweet was met with some angry replies from Blues supporters who appeared to be none too impressed with Eto’o, or his seemingly relaxed attitude to the west Londoners’ exit from the competition either.

Eto’o has only been at Stamford Bridge since the start of the season, during which time the former Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan forward has managed to net just four times in 12 matches.
