Craven Cottage side want Old Trafford wide-man.
Fulham have set their sights on Man United bit-part player Alexander Buttner according to Sports Direct News.
Newly installed Craven Cottage boss Rene Meulensteen wants the 24 year old to act as a long term replacement for John Arne Riise and is clearly a player the Dutch manager knows well from his time as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant at Old Trafford.
The former Vitesse Arnhem man has impressed when called upon and his attack minded displays have earned him a fair few admirers among the Man United faithful but having made just one Premier League start this season and with Leighton Baines constantly linked with a move to the club it may well be worth the Dutch international considering his options.
Buttner is more than capable of forging a career in the Premier League and regular first team football could help get his career back on track as well as assist in his push for a more prominent role in Louis van Gaal’s national team set-up, having thus far been called up to the squad without notching up a senior cap.
Fulham are struggling at the wrong end of the table and will look to initially sign Buttner on a loan deal in January before perhaps making such a move a permanent one next summer.
