Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has set his sights on landing Wolfsburg forward Ivica Olic according to talkSPORT.

The Potters have managed just 15 Premier League goals this season and could well do with attacking additions and Hughes hopes to land Olic on a free transfer when the 34 year old will be out of contract.

The experienced Croatian has won domestic titles in Croatia, Russia and Germany and may well be tempted by a chance to shine in the Premier League before hanging up his boots.

Olic has scored 91 goals in 245 appearances in Germany with Hamburg, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg and would be a big improvement on the options currently open to Hughes.

Stoke City’s first choice striking weapon, Jonathan Walters, has managed just one goal in 14 Premier League fixtures this season
