The north London club have been keeping close tabs on the exciting 17-year-old for some time now, with a view to making a possible move for the player at some point next year.

However, it has now emerged that the Romans are prepared to pay the £3.6 million release clause in the Paraguay international’s contract at Camp Nou, which currently runs until June 30 2015, in order to lure Sanabria to the Italian capital next month.

Sanabria has been with the Catalans now since 2009, although the South American did not actually make his debut for Barca until September 2012 against Real Mallorca in La Liga.

Meanwhile, so far in this campaign the striker has managed to find the back of the net on six occasions in his 17 matches in total all competitions for club and country, including two strikes in his nine Segunda division matches for the Barcelona B team.
