The experienced England international has found himself in the unfamiliar position of only being used as a bit-part player by the west London club so far in this campaign, with Cole having not started a game for the Blues since they went down 2-0 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park at the start of November.

And with Cole’s current one-year rolling contract now set to expire on June 30 2014, there are increasing doubts as to whether the attacking left back will still be at the club next season.

However, the player himself is said to be unconcerned about his current situation in the capital, even though the west Londoners have been utilising Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta in his place of late, while they have also been heavily linked with making a move for Southampton’s young full-back Luke Shaw in recent weeks.

Cole, meanwhile, has been attracting the attentions of a number of interested clubs as well, including Major League Soccer outfit the New York Red Bulls.
