Under-fire Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay may have held on to his job for a little longer than many would have expected but the club’s owner Vincent Tan is readying a move to bring in former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson to replace the Scot according to the Daily Mail.

Despite guiding the Bluebirds back to the top flight for the first time in over 50 years it appears that Mr. Tan is determined to ace Mackay, much to the chagrin of the club’s supporters, who have actively backed Mackay in recent weeks and Eriksson is apparently the man Tan wants to bring in once he has inevitably sacked the current Cardiff City boss.

66 year old boss Eriksson may well have a fairly successful managerial CV he hasn’t been employed in what you would call a top club job for over five years, since his departure from Man City the Swede has been employed in a number of roles including managing Mexico, Ivory Coast, Leicester City and is currently the manager of Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F.

Eriksson will apparently be promised a big January transfer fund, which is a little hard to fathom given that Tan has stated publicly that he wouldn’t hand Mackay any more money for new players in the upcoming transfer window.
