West Ham are looking to lure former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan back to the Premier League with a lucrative loan deal according to the Daily Mirror.

Hammes boss Sam Allardyce is frantically looking to bring in a striker in January and will offer the 28 year old Ghana international a six month loan deal worth a reported £100k a week.

Gyan currently plies his trade for United Arab Emirates club Al Ain and is seen as cover for injured forward Andy Carroll, who hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League action since joining the East London club on a permanent basis in the summer.

Asamoah Gyan spent just over a year at the Stadium of Light, scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances for the Black Cats and has been a big hit with Al-Ain, netting 70 goals in 61 appearances.

West Ham sit just above the drop zone and are in desperate needs of a cutting edge up front having scored just 14 goals in 17 Premier League fixtures.
