Hull City are ready to spend £6m to lure Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher to the KC Stadium according to the Daily Mirror.

The Scottish international cost the Black Cats £12m back in August 2012 but after a promising start the 26 year old has struggled to impress at the Stadium of Light.

The one time Hibernian man scored five goals in his first four Premier League appearances for Sunderland but his form has tailed off ever since. Gus Poyet has opted to use Jozy Altidore in recent weeks and Fletcher has managed just two goals in 14 top tier fixtures this term.

Steve Bruce is keen to add a cutting edge to his attack, no doubt with a view to replacing Danny Graham, who has scored just one goal in his last 29 Premier League appearances.

£6m may not be enough to convince Sunderland to sell and Tigers boss Bruce may have to offer a little more to convince the club to sell the forward.
