Powell has been a revelation for Wigan this season, scoring eight goals in 23 appearances across all competitions, and has impressed for the club in both their Championship and Europa League campaigns.

The 19-year-old is due to arrive back at Old Trafford later this week, but Rosler is keen to sign him on until the end of the season and has revealed that he has already held talks with David Moyes about keeping him on.

“I’ve spoken to David and, so far, there’s been no indication that anything has changed,” said Rosler after Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Burnley.

“On Monday and Tuesday we’ll have another talk and I’ll know for certain.

“Nick is a player of real quality and I would be delighted if he is able to stay with us for the rest of the season.”

However, rumours have circulated that a number of Premier League sides, including the likes of Everton, Swansea and Hull, are all interested in taking him on a short term deal too, so Wigan may have their work cut out to keep a hold of him.
