Zlatan dreams of lining up alongside Messi once again.
Paris Saint Germain megastar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has urged the club to splash the cash on former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi if he is put up for sale, according to Inside Futbol.
However, the big Swede could be in for a long wait as both the player and club are happy together and rumour has it that a fresh contract extension is in the offing for the Argentine maestro.
But Ibrahimovic has afforded himself a chance to dream as the winter break pushes towards an end in France and he has said that should the world’s best player ever become available then the club would be silly not to jump at the chance to bring him on board.
“If [Messi] is on the market, there will be clubs the world over, not just PSG, eyeing him”, Ibrahimovic was quoted by L’Equipe as saying.
“The project of the club is to ‘dream bigger’. But if you take Messi, you’re not just dreaming bigger, you are bigger.”
Messi is currently sidelined in Spain with a hamstring injury and is expected to resume full fitness early on in the new year to help the club retain their La Liga title as well as push for glory in the Champions League.
