We’re all set for a cracker at Old Trafford as Manchester United face Tottenham, with David Moyes suddenly finding their form in the Premiership.

After a slow start, things seem to be clicking for the Red Devils domestically at the moment, with four straight wins propelling United to sixth in the league, and there’s no doubt supporters of the current Champions will be feeling a whole lot better after an excellent Christmas period.

Danny Welbeck has emerged as a very dependable man to bring on with the absence of Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, and the 23yr old has taken his chance, bagging four in his last four.

Chris Smalling is likely to continue in the right back role as cover for the injured Rafael De Silva, while the return of Michael Carrick in the side is a welcome boost to Moyes, who has sorely missed the England man in the centre of midfield.

Its more than likely that Moyes will move to the much favoured 4-4-2 formation, which reaped rewards in the second half against Norwich last week, with Javier Hernandez partnering Welbeck up front.

There’s no doubt that David Moyes and the rest of the Old Trafford faithful will be looking for the perfect start to the New Year, and three points against Spurs would provide more than a confidence boost as the side looks to kick on into 2014.

Explosive youngster Januzaj could start in what should be an attacking looking line up.

As for their opponents Tottenham, its been all change at White Hart Lane in recent weeks with the dismissal of Andre Villas-Boas, as Spurs old boy Tim Sherwood takes over at the helm.

The North Londoners come into the game on the back of a good 3-0 home win over Stoke, and with Sherwood playing a much more attacking lineup with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado up front, and the cover in midfield provided by Paulinho and Moussa Dembele, there’s sure to be plenty of goals in what could be and early season cracker at Old Trafford.

More worrying for Sherwood is the fact that Tottenham have conceded a goal in their last four away trips, so a visit to Old Trafford may not be the start of the New Year Spurs fans were hoping for.

In the betting, there’s no doubt that the 5/2 offered by Coral must be a contender for one of the bets of the season already, and with the home win a price of 4/5 elsewhere, the 5/2 must really be taken.

That sort of price does not come around often, and should provide the perfect tonic for the New Years Day hangover!
