Cardiff City are set to confirm Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s new manager according to the Daily Telegraph.

The former Man United striker will be handed a hefty £25 million January transfer budget, something that was certainly not available to former boss Malky Mackay, and was present at the Emirates Stadium during Cardiff City’s narrow defeat to Arsenal.

Solskjaer will be employed on a rolling one year contract and has already earmarked a move for Blackpool winger Tom Ince, who will no doubt be of interest to a number of Premier League sides.

Following the end of his successful playing career Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spent a successful stint as manager of the Man United reserve team before being appointed boss of his former Norwegian club FC Molde, who he led to their first domestic title success in 2011 before repeating the trick in 2012.
