Manchester United are set to make a move for highly-rated Wolfsburg forward Ivan Perisic in the coming weeks as they look to bolster their creativity in midfield.

CaughtOffside understands that Untied scouts actually discovered the player whilst in Wolfsburg to check up on the player’s teammate and Arsenal target Diego, and were so impressed by what they saw that they actually recommended him over the Brazilian international.
Playing predominantly on the left wing, the 24-year-old can also be used in the middle and in extreme cases on the right hand side too, and it is his versatility that is one of the factors that is appealing to the United boss as he searches for replacements for both Ashley Young and Anderson, who are said to be nearing the exit doors at Old Trafford.
Perisic was at Borussia Dortmund until last summer, and was a part of the infamous league and cup double winners of the 2011/12 season, but was shipped out ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s rebuilding efforts last January, but was injured shortly after signing and made only a handful of appearances for his new side before the summer break.
And therein lies the problem with any potential move, Wolfsburg are keen to hang on to the player at all costs and are said to be asking for considerably more than his £7m valuation, but with time not on his side Moyes is said to be considering the swoop in order to get his season back on track as soon as possible.
The Croatian international, who currently has 26 caps to his name, has made 19 appearances for the side this season across all competitions, bagging himself two goals in the process. He also notched his first international goal for Croatia too this term in the 1-1 draw with Group A winners Belgium and he is fully expected to be heading to Brazil in June to form a part of Croatia’s World Cup squad.
Moyes is also hoping that because he has yet to establish himself as a household name there will be less competition for his signature and will test the waters with a preliminary offer as early as next week after his side have faced Swansea City in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
