The England under-21 international has been on the club’s radar since the summer and even turned down a reported £8m move to Welsh rivals Cardiff, but he decided to stay with the Tangerines for family reasons.

However, the Swans are keen to try their luck once again in a bid to give manager Michael Laudrup more options in attack.

But Jenkins has insisted that the ball is in Blackpool’s court after the club only recently offered him a new deal to stay at Bloomfield Road beyond his current contract.

“Tom Ince is a talented player and he is someone we are looking at,” Jenkins said.

“We made an approach in the summer and have done again for this window, but it is up to Blackpool. He is their player.

“If and when there is a possibility for him to leave, then we would be interested.”

The 21-year-old has featured 19 times for the club so far this season, scoring seven goals and is already well on course to matching last season’s tally of 18 in 47.
