Reds Target Backed To Make English Move This Week

Liverpool target Mohamed Salah has been backed to complete his move to the Barclay’s Premier League as early as this week, according to the Daily Star.

The ‘Egyptian Messi’ helped FC Basel see off Chelsea twice during the early stages of the Champions League this season and has since been linked with a move to Anfield.

And former teammate Mohamed Zika, as well as ex-national team boss Bob Bradley have both hinted that he could complete his transfer sooner than first expected.

Rodgers Laughs Off Sterling Loan Exit

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has denied suggestions that he is set to loan out young winger Raheem Sterling during the January transfer window, talkSPORT reports.

Sterling has been a regular fixture in the Reds starting XI this season, but reports from last week had suggested that the manager is looking to bring in an experienced wide man in the new year.

“It must have come from one of the media guys checking his in-tray four of five months late,” Rodgers said.

Derby Warn Reds Off Starlet

Derby County chiefs have warned any interested parties that are hoping to sign young playmaker Will Hughes that he will not be leaving Pride Park in the January transfer window, the Daily Star reports.

Liverpool have been just one of several top flight clubs looking to take the 18-year-old away from Pride Park, but the club have sought to put some distance between themselves and the reports suggesting that an offer for him is imminent.

However, with Derby currently flying in the Championship under former England boss Steve McLaren they are not willing to do any business with anyone for their best players.

Rodgers Close In On League One Starlet

Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to completing a deal for young MK Dons star Delle Alli after the club personally checked on him during his side’s FA Cup encounter with Wigan Athletic at the weekend, the Daily Mirror reports.

The England youth international has been garnering some serious interest from a number of clubs in higher divisions, but it is Brendan Rodgers who is apparently closest to landing his signature.

The 17-year-old has been a key figure in the Dons’ season so far, and Rodgers is keen to secure his future to further add to the plethora of serious prospects already at the club.
