The 22 year old Belgian looks set to complete a move to the German side who are willing to pay £17m for the youngster, which one would imagine would be a fee Chelsea would accept for a player they spent £7m on two years ago.

De Bruyne has made just two Premier League starts, the last of which came in late August, and it’s perhaps no surprise that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would be ready to accept offers for the former Racing Genk man.

Kevin de Bruyne is keen to secure regular first team football ahead of the summer’s World Cup finals and a move back to Germany may well be the best move for all concerned.

During his spell at Werder Bremen de Bruyne scored ten goals and provided nine assists in 33 appearances and will be looking to replicate this form at Wolfsburg, who currently sit in fifth spot in the Bundesliga table.
