Italian international to pen new deal with Juve.
Italian international midfielder Andrea Pirlo is set to snub interest from both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea after admitting that he expects to stay with Juventus, according to Sky Sports.
The 34-year-old has seen his future become the subject of some heavy speculation over the course of the season and has subsequently been linked with the two Premier League sides.
However, he is due to disappoint both of them by declaring his intent at staying put in Turin and he believed that the matter can be sorted out sooner rather than later by putting pen-to-paper on a new deal before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
“In the next few days we will meet with the club. I am optimistic and there is general optimism,” Pirlo told Radio 105 in his homeland.
Pirlo joined Juventus from fellow Serie A giants AC Milan in 2011 and has gone on to win two Scudetto’s in that time as well as re-establishing himself as the national team’s most important player.
However, he has signalled his intent to retire from international side after this year’s World Cup in Brazil where he will come up against England during the group stage.
