The diminutive Mexican should probably leave for his own benefit more than anything else. He has never been wildly prolific, but 55 goals in 138 appearances for the club suggest that he knows where the net is, and another club in desperate need of some more firepower would gladly appreciate his services.
He is currently seeing his place with the Mexican national team under threat, which will set alarm bells ringing in a World Cup year, and if he is not going to start regularly then the club should look to spend the money they get for him on someone who will.
