The 32-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and reports have suggested that he could be on his way to join the likes of Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder next season after a deal was agreed.

However, Vidic’s agent, Silvano Martina, has put distance between his client and the rumours linking him with a switch to Turkey by insisting that no such deal has taken place, saying he “knows nothing” about any such arrangement.

“At the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United,” he said.

“Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him. Vidic is a very good player and will have no trouble finding a new club. For the time being we are remaining calm.”

Vidic has had his problems with injury over the course of the current campaign and with David Moyes looking to rubber stamp his own mark onto the squad it has been suggested that Vidic could well be one of the players on the way out at the end of the season.
