The Gunners are understood to be one of two clubs currently interested in the France Under-21 international, with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach also said to be keen on landing Ntep this month.

However, if recent reports in France are to be believed, then Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has now decided to step up his chase for the in-demand 21-year-old as the veteran trainer tries desperately to lure a new attacker to the capital before the transfer window finally slams shut for business for the campaign at the end of the month.

Ntep has so far managed to record 16 goals and three assists in total in his 28 matches in all competitions for both club and country this season, including seven strikes and one assist in his 17 Ligue 2 outings for Auxerre, with his employers believed to be demanding a fee somewhere in the region of €8m for the forward.
