The 18 year old attacker has scored five goals in 17 matches for Dinamo and has already been capped at Under 21 level for the Romanian national team and is a player who has apparently attracted the attention of Old Trafford scouts with Rotariu freely discussing a lengthy meeting he had with the Premier League, stating;

“It was a meeting in Bucharest with Manchester United officials with whom I chatted for around two hours,” Rotariu told Romanian newspaper Ring.

“They wanted to know me personally, to see what kind of guy I am, what character I have. We didn’t just discuss football.

“I was told they are monitoring me. This gives me ambition and motivates me. When a club the size of Manchester has you in sight, you can only be proud.

“Honestly, I did not expect to happen quickly, but I tell you I will not go to your head. going to focus even more on every game and to give everything in training.

“I feel very well at Dinamo and I want to win trophies here. The cup is important for me and my colleagues.”

Whilst it’s clear that the young talent wouldn’t see immediate action at Man United it is perhaps not surprising that David Moyes is keen to recruit new wide attacking options with the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Luis Antonio Valencia all failing to impress on a consistent enough basis, whilst youngster Wilfried Zaha doesn’t appear to be a player the Scottish boss deems as ready for regular first team action.
