Arsenal are set to face some serious competition for the signature of young Freiburg centre-back Matthias Ginter from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in Sports Direct News.

The 19-year-old is one of the most scouted players in the German top flight at the moment and has been linked with a move to Arsene Wenger’s side ever since the summer, though they are not believed to be the only ones taking a closer look at him.
Fellow German giants Borussia Dortmund are now also believed to be in the running as they look to make some new additions to their defensive options in the wake of injuries to both Matts Hummels and Neven Subotic this season, and Jurgen Klopp may have the jump on Wenger when it comes to bringing the 19-year-old on board.
Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with an interest, but it is Dortmund who are said to be favourites to land his signature should he be made available.
Arsenal are also believed to be prioritising attacking players during the current transfer window as some strong defensive performances, coupled with some key injuries to their forward talent have meant that Wenger has had to rethink his transfer strategy.
