Unsettled Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is set to hold more talks with the north London club about extending his stay at the Emirates beyond the end of his current contract with the Gunners which runs out at the end of this season, with the experienced Frenchman said to be keen to stay in the capital, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.

The France international’s future with the Premier League leaders has been in doubt for some time now, especially now that the attacking right back is allowed to enter into talks with foreign-based clubs.

And it is understood that the likes of mega-rich Ligue 1 duo AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as AS Roma and Galatasaray have all already made contact with Sagna’s agent with lucrative offers to sign the player on a Bosman free transfer this summer.

However, Saga himself is said to still want to remain at the Emirates and extend his stay with Arsenal, with the 30-year-old having been with the club since arriving from Auxerre in 2007.

But there still remain a number of sticking points to sort out though before such a scenario can happen, primarily concerning both the length of Arsenal’s contract offer and the size of the salary on the table.
